I saw a billboard that said if you're under 4'9", you have to ride in a booster seat in the car.

There are high-schoolers and adults who are 4'9"! I can picture it now.. Imagine with me...

It's prom night. Tracy's date walks around to her side to open the door for her. She unbuckles herself from her booster seat and steps out of the car.

George pulls into the company parking lot. He pulls into a spot and stops the engine. He unbuckles himself from his booster seat and gets out of the car ready for a new day at work.

35-year-old Susan tells her Todai waitress that she qualifies for a discount meal because she is under 5'0" and has a booster seat to prove it.

You probably only have to abide by this law if you're under a certain age, maybe 12?, but why should the law only apply to children 4'9" and under? Don't the lawmakers care about the safety of adults who are 4'9" and under? Or is this a law they are trying to apply to children of a certain age group? If so, it won't protect the tall first and second graders (6-, 7- and 8-year-olds) who are past 4'9".

this reminds me of a tv show called "little ppl big world" or something. basically about midgets and their lives.

Some legislator probably saw a growing trend in shorter people getting into accidents while manning larger vehicles that made it hard for them to see safely over the dash and felt compelled to do something about it. It's just another law insulting the public's intelligence. Get use to it.

Eliza, did you watch the show? Did you learn anything?

Doug, hehe.. the law is only for children under 4'9, not adults. I was just throwing out some scenarios. LOL. That would be HILARIOUS though if they created the law for short adults because of the number of accidents. That's even funnier than the scenes I thought up!!!!! I like it!

I watched the show and learned somthing...they don't like to be called midgets...tsk tsk tsk eliza :-O
They'd rather be called little people. But that is rather interesting why adults 4'9" and under don't have to use a booster seat. Maybe an adult version of a booster seat should be made.
