Here's my take on divorce. Don't get married thinking that your escape route is divorce. Don't rush into marriage without first going to marriage counseling (or something equivalent - I think a lot of churches require or strongly encourage it) and having thorough discussions about life goals, family (# of children, in-laws, etc.), religion, pets, compatibility, etc. Then if things are rocky after you get married, work on them! Go to couples therapy or confide in someone neutral you trust, and put 150% effort into making it work. After all that and you know the relationship will not heal or survive, then get a divorce. If you're unhappy, you don't need to spend the rest of your life being unhappy. Make the change. Just don't go into marriage without thinking, and don't get out of the marriage without thinking it through. :) 'Until death do us part.' Mean it when you make that vow, and only use divorce as a last resort after everything else. (Oh, but abuse is definitely a good reason to get a divorce.)

Rain will pour down on your marriage (relationship), but share the responsibility of carrying the umbrella. :)

Nice quote, did you come up with that?

i never thought about taking marriage counceling before i got married! good advice. we'll talk more about it online lol

Couples should have to go through an interview process inorder to get married and the state should be able to deny their request. Certain people just look like they'll get divorced right away so they'll be forced to date for another year before marriage.

Yes, I came up with the quote. The picture of the Care Bears inspired me. :)
