Vancouver trip continued...

We left the Bay Area in the early afternoon (after work) and passed through Oregon and Washington. The nightlights in Portland were beautiful, and the early morning view of Seattle was almost of equal beauty. We arrived at Douglas Crossing at 6A.M., and there were only about four cars ahead of us. Our first stop in Canada was Tim Horton's, which is located conveniently a few miles from the border and open 24 hours. After that, we drove to the hotel and napped for two hours in front of the hotel since it was too early to check in. After our nap, we headed to Chinatown for some dim sum at Pink Pearl. I found this place online. It received bronze place for dim sum in some magazine. The food was alright. The siu mai and shark's fin dumpling were hard. I expected better food because my previous food experience in Vancouver was exceptional. Many Hong Kong chefs immigrated to Vancouver, so the Chinese food there is sometimes even better than what you find in Hong Kong. Anyway, Pink Pearl's food was alright. After that, we went to two Asian malls in Richmond. These malls were awesome! One was called Yaohan, and the other was Aberdeen, which is a large 3-story one with a very nice water show/fountain, like a miniature Bellagio. They were also showing a sample model condo. The shops inside the malls are either Asian-owned or Asian-influenced. Afterwards, we checked into our hotel, which was in a very good location in North Vancouver. Right underneath our hotel was the Lonsdale Quay Market, which consists of a huge gourmet food court, fish market, fruit market, and shops. After we took another two hour nap, we headed out for some clubbing in Vancouver. A coworker had recommended Atlantis Nightclub, so off we went. Two blocks away from the nightclub was a organic supermarket and deli called 'Choices,' and we ate there. We got to the club at 10:30, and there were maybe about 60 people there. It cost $12CDN to get in. The music was pretty good, and as the crowd grew larger, people started dancing around 11:15. I noticed a lot of girls were wearing COACH or GUCCI waist packs, which I thought looked really stylish. This club must not have had a dress code because some of the guys were wearing jersey tank tops, running shoes, beaters, and graphic t-shirts. One guy had a shirt that looked like one of those eye exams where the top line has the largest lettering and the size of the letters decrease as you continue down. His short said, "I am very horny." Some girl had on shorts and running shoes. For the most part, girls were dressed up. After clubbing, we went to McDonald's since it had a 24 hour drive thru, but it took 20 minutes to get our food!
