[ HIT & RUN ]: A Day in S.F.
Today was a very interesting day. In the afternoon, we met up with this guy in San Francisco. He was driving me and another guy to a store nearby with his fixed up WRX. While we were at a stoplight in the middle of 3 lanes, the light turns green but the two door Rav4 that was in front of us was moving. Then the Rav4 started to roll back on us. There were cars all around us, so the driver (guy we met up with) couldn't move back at all. The driver honked and yelled a few times at the Rav4, but the Rav4 driver just kept rolling back. We were so helpless as we watched the Rav4 he hit and crumple the guy's aluminum WRX hood while our driver honked like crazy. I was sitting in the backseat, but I saw the hood go up. Oh Sh*t! Then the WRX guy saw that no cars were behind us so he rolled back a bit, but the Rav4 was still rolling back slowly on us. Then the Rav4 started to move forward very slowly. WRX guy honked and honked trying to get the attention of the Rav4 and make him pull over to the side of the road to get the Rav4's information. The Rav4 guy would not pull over. WRX guy then drove up to the right of the Rav4 and finally the guy rolled down his window, but it took him two attempts to get it open. WRX guy asked him to pull over, but Rav4 guy was mumbling incoherently "my car has mechanical difficulties..", as he was creeping onto the left lane. WRX guy told him again to pull over and when the guy wouldn't cooperate, WRX guy dialed 911 on his cell phone and told the operator about the accident and how a possible drunk driver would not cooperate. The Rav4 guy looked like he was strung off something or totally drunk. At this point, we were blocking traffic because the stoplight had turned green. The Rav4 guy looked like he was either really confused or trying to think of a way out of this mess. Finally he pulled over to the side on the next block. We pulled right behind him and got out of the car. The two guys went to talk to the Rav4 guy, but he wouldn't give his name or any info and wouldn't get out of the car since we weren't cops. I had a really creepy feeling about the Rav4 guy. I wouldn't have been surprised if he pulled out a gun. The whole time the WRX guy was on the phone with the police. Then the Rav4 guy slowly drove away at 5mph. WRX guy decided not to chase him, and we just waited for the cop car to arrive.
So now we made a U-turn back to the guy's house. On our way there, almost two blocks away, we heard firetruck sirens and realized there was an accident in front of us. From what we could see, there was a motorcycle lying flat on its side on a curb and a crowd of people surrounding it. About 10 minutes later, we were told by the WRX guy's friend that he was driving by when the accident occurred. He heard a noise, possibly the sound of the motorcycle's throttle as if he just went from drive to reverse, and then he saw the motorcyclist fly off his motorcycle onto to the street. Even his shoe came off in the process as a result of the impact.
After all that drama, we decided to head over to Cheesecake Factory for some dinner. What do you expect? An expected 2 hour wait that turned into 2.5 hours. While we waited for a table, we headed over to Blondie's for a slice of pizza. We were super hungry. =P Then we went back to wait at Cheesecake some more. The whole Cheesecake ordeal took over 4 hours.
Layer 9 and 10 to be posted tomorrow.
