BLOG: SHORT Nice guys don't always finish last.




I don't understand why some guys complain about that. Here's the scenario I've seen: Guy Friend 2 likes this girl who's unhappy in her relationship. He's there for her emotionally. She's very grateful that he's so kind and caring, not knowing that a huge reason he is so kind is because he wants to be her boyfriend. Well, Guy Friend 2 either knows about Guy Friend 3 or not. Guy Friend 3 is just as caring and kind, and he probably wants to get with the girl, too. Guy Friend 2 doesn't understand why the girl is still with Boyfriend (previous Guy Friend 1) when Boyfriend makes her so unhappy, BUT Guy Friend 2 doesn't realize that Boyfriend DID make her happy before and probably made her very happy when he was her Guy Friend 1, too. Many relationships start of entirely happy until things, people, and situations change. All Guy Friend 2 sees is 'Boyfriend is horrible NOW. I'm so much better. Damn it. Nice guys finish last.' Then, when the girl hooks up with Guy Friend 3, Guy Friend 2 is completely bitter because HE (Guy Friend 2) was so nice to her, yet she didn't choose him! He doesn't realize that Guy Friend 3 was also very caring emotionally... The difference between Guy Friend 2 and 3? The girl was attracted to Guy Friend 3 as well, so that doesn't mean that nice guys finish last.. rather it means and should henceforth be phrased as, 'the nice guy that the girl doesn't find attractive usually finishes last', and THAT is my proof for Nice guys don't always finish last.
